The LAUMC Scrip Coordinator is Vivian Miller. She can be reached at 562-972-2106 or by email at millervc01@yahoo.com.
The Los Altos United Methodist Church scrip program began in the 1990’s and has enabled participants to provide nearly $200,000 in “over and above” financial support for the ongoing maintenance of church property and ministry funding.
How Scrip Works
As a non-profit organization, Los Altos UMC is able to purchase gift cards for countless businesses and service providers. These businesses rebate the church at varying percentage rates. Congregation members purchase the cards at face value and use them exactly as they would “ordinary” gift cards. In fact, they ARE ordinary gift cards.
How to get scrip - three ways
1. On-hand scrip is available most any time:
Gift cards for the businesses shown below are typically on hand at any time. Home delivery is
available.
2. A wide variety of other gift cards are available to order each month:
Click here for an extensive list of available gift cards that can be ordered through the Scrip
Coordinator each month.
Orders are due the second Sunday of the month by 2:00 p.m. and are typically available
within two to three days. No order form is necessary. If you are unable to place an order at
church, simply call or email the scrip coordinator.
3. Most scrip can be purchased directly online for immediate availability:
The RaiseRight mobile app enables purchasing and using eGift Cards directly from a
smartphone (no printing required.)
Alternatively, print-at-home eGift Cards are available from Shopwithscrip.com and can be
used just like ordinary gift cards. eGift Cards can also be sent as a gifts.

directly, including how to ensure that Los Altos UMC benefits from your eGift Card
purchases, and how to pay for eGift Cards.
Ralphs and Food 4 Less
Ralphs and Food 4 Less participate in the Kroger Company’s community contributions program. They do not issue gift cards as scrip. Rather, Ralphs/Food 4 Less shoppers can connect their rewards cards to LAUMC and a 4% rebate on roughly $500 in eligible participant purchases per year is paid directly to the church.
How it works for Ralphs
Participants must set up a digital Ralphs account and connect their Ralphs Rewards card to Los Altos UMC. Click here for instructions.
How it works for Food 4 Less
Food for less issues a special Community Rewards card with a barcode specific to Los Altos UMC. At checkout, the clerk scans the barcode and the rebate associated with your shopping trip automatically accrues to the church. If you are a Food 4 Less shopper, contact the Los Altos UMC scrip coordinator to get one of these cards.
